𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 ℱ𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓃𝒹𝓈,
As February unfolds, I’m still carrying my word for the year, intentional, into these early days. It’s been a gentle guide, reminding me to slow down and focus on what truly matters.
As we move through the quiet of winter, February also invites us to reflect on Imbolc, which whispers of the quiet stirrings within us—a reminder that growth doesn’t always come with loud moments or sudden shifts. Sometimes, it’s found in the stillness, in the small steps we take, in the pauses and moments of quiet reflection.
February whispers...
“Pause, breathe, and feel the quiet of winter's embrace, for in this stillness, connection begins.”
This month, I’m reflecting deeply on connection—the subtle yet powerful ways we connect with ourselves, with others, and with the world around us. I’ve come to realise that connection doesn’t always have to be loud or dramatic. Sometimes, it’s in the quiet moments: in a pause, in a breath, in simply being present with what is.
True connection starts within. By checking in with myself throughout the day, I feel more grounded and open to connecting with others from a place of presence. In this space of awareness, I can listen more deeply, respond with care, and show up more authentically.
This month, I’m choosing to connect intentionally through small, meaningful actions:
Pausing to breathe and check in with myself before moving on with my day.
Continuing to say no to what drains my energy and yes to what nourishes my body and soul.
Embracing moments of silence, where nothing is required but to simply be.
These small shifts are helping me create a deeper, more intentional connection with myself and with others. I hope this poem brings you some peace, or even just a moment of quiet reflection.
A Time for Connection
Connection is not always loud,
but in the quiet,
it is always present. It’s felt in the touch of a hand,
the warmth in a gaze,
the space shared without words. It grows when we listen deeply,
not to reply,
but to hear.Connection is what holds us
when the world feels heavy,
and it’s what we give to others
without needing to fix,
only to love as we are. It’s showing up,
and being seen—
without expectation.Connection, simple and true,
is what we’ve always had.
As we journey through February, I invite you to reflect on connection in your life.
What small, intentional steps can you take this month to deepen your connection with yourself or others?
Perhaps it’s taking a few minutes for yourself each morning, or being fully present with someone you care about.
Connection doesn’t need to be grand. It’s the little moments that can create the most profound impact.
If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear how connection is showing up in your life. Feel free to share, or simply reflect in a moment of quiet.

I read recently that we learn to co-regulate with our caregivers before we learn to self regulate (from them) and if your caregivers aren't able to self regulate, that's when things go 'wrong'. That makes so much sense to me...neither of my parents were able to self regulate (I've no blame for them) and it helps me to have self compassion on my own journey towards self regulation. It's a long road, but baby steps forwards 🙂 Karen

So true. If we connect with ourselves with integrity, the ripple effect spreads. 🙏🥰
