Guided Whispers: May
To the parts of you that ache and still reach for the light
ℳ𝒶𝓎 𝒲𝒽𝒾𝓈𝓅𝑒𝓇𝓈...
“It’s your time to grow wild and free…”
I’m writing this to you on the 21st of May, right in the heart of the month’s unfolding, allowing a moment to pause and reflect together.
There’s something about May that always pulls at me.
Maybe it’s how the world bursts with colour and life — messy, bright, and unpredictable all at once.
This month has reminded me that growth isn’t just about getting through.
It’s about truly thriving, even when that feels impossible.
I’ve been sitting with my word for the year: intention.
As always, it’s both a comfort and a challenge.
At first, it felt like planting tiny seeds — quiet and hopeful.
Now, it’s more about choosing where to place my energy without burning out:
focusing on what truly matters
allowing space to breathe and to rest, without pressure
letting the rest gently fall away
May is showing me that intention doesn’t have to be rigid or perfect.
It can be slow and messy, even tender.
May feels unapologetic.
Trees stretch skywards
Flowers open wide
And you (yes, you!), are allowed to take up space, exactly as you are.
Let’s take a moment to press pause and reflect:
What does your heart want to say,
if it felt safe to speak?
Take your time with that.
No rush. No expectation.
After seasons of shrinking or just managing to get by,
stepping into your fullness can feel scary —
especially when the world around you doesn’t always feel safe or welcoming.
But May keeps whispering, “It’s your time to grow wild and free.”
I want you to hear that…
Really feel it, in whatever way is possible for you right now.
And here’s something else to sit with this month:
What does it mean for you to “bloom” right now?
It doesn’t need to be loud or visible.
Maybe it’s:
Speaking your truth softly (I’ve been doing this one in the day job…)
Giving yourself permission to rest, without shame or guilt
Simply allowing yourself to be exactly as you are
Your growth — quiet, messy, slow — is completely valid.
You deserve to shine, even when it feels difficult.
There is no rush.
Blooming isn’t a performance or a competition.
May reminds me (and I hope it reminds you)
that growth is a process — one that honours all parts of you.
Be gentle. Be kind.
Be patient with your nervous system and your heart.
Your body and spirit will thank you.
I wrote a simple poem this month to remind us to be both brave and soft.
(Still loving these monthly acrostics!)
May Moments…
Move gently with the rhythm of renewal.
Allow yourself to unfurl like petals in sunlight.
You are part of the wild beauty, worthy of full bloom.
🧘 A Gentle Check-in (2-minute invitation)
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or disconnected,
here’s a grounding practice I return to again and again:
Sit or stand as you are — no need to change anything
Feel your feet on the ground, or rest where you can
Breathe in slowly and quietly ask yourself:
“What is one small thing I want to care for today?”Breathe out, releasing any pressure to ‘fix’ or ‘do’ more than you can
One breath. One small step.
Now, imagine yourself as a tender shoot,
slowly breaking through soft earth,
feeling the warmth of the sun on your leaves —
moving forward at your own pace,
steady, steady, just as you are.
Take care of yourself this month —
in whatever ways feel possible:
gentle steps
quiet courage
plenty of grace
I’m here with you, every step of the way.
𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝒢𝓇𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓉𝓊𝒹𝑒,
🙏 𝒟𝒶𝓃𝒶 𝓍𝑜
I loved it! Thank you for this post, Dana. It came at exactly the right time for me. Your gentle check-in might be the simple but powerful tool I need right now. 🩷
