ℱ𝓇𝑜𝓂 𝓂𝓎 𝒽𝑒𝒶𝓇𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇𝓈... 🫶💌☕
As you go through life, it’s easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others. I know the feeling all too well—the moments when we wonder why everyone else seems to be moving faster or why things feel “harder” for us.
I’ve been there recently. Despite a degree, over twenty years of professional experience and development, and a lifetime of personal growth, I still found myself sitting in a class Zoom call last Sunday surrounded by thirty other students, and there it was—the “you’re inadequate” imposter syndrome.
It creeps in for all of us, no matter how far we’ve come. Even when we think we’ve mastered it, it has a way of showing up again, whispering that we’re not enough.
Pause for a moment:
Close your eyes.
Take a deep breath in, and hold for just a second.
Breathe out slowly.
Let yourself pause here, right where you are. No rush.
Feel the grounding of this very moment.
Your nervous system thrives on safety, not speed. Regulation unfolds in its own time, through steady, consistent moments of presence—never by forcing progress.
Healing isn’t linear. There’s no set path, no perfect timeline, and no “right” way. Some days, it feels messy, slow, and uncertain—and that’s okay.
What matters most is this moment. Not where others are, not how far they’ve gone ahead—just you, right here, with all the work you’ve done to get to this point. You’re exactly where you need to be.
Visualise this:
Imagine yourself standing on your path.
Picture the steps you've already taken.
See how far you've come.
Each small step has meaning, and you should feel proud of them, even if they feel small.
They matter just as much as the big ones.
I invite you to hold onto this truth: your path is valuable, no matter the pace.
The Path You Walk
The path you walk is yours alone,
Not measured by another’s stone.
Each step you take, with care and grace,
Is a victory, no matter the pace.So honour where you are today,
And trust that you will be okay.
For healing blooms in time—don’t rush,
You’ll arrive when it’s time to hush.
This poem is your reminder to take it one step at a time.
You’re already doing the work that matters.
Celebrate Every Step
Take a moment and think about how far you’ve come. Healing isn’t about being “better” than someone else—it’s about honouring where you are.
Every step forward, no matter how small, deserves to be celebrated.
What moments of strength have you shown recently?
What parts of your journey make you proud?
Give yourself space to honour those moments, without judgement.
Stop Comparing, Start Celebrating
It’s so easy to look around and think, “Why does it seem so easy for them?”
But I promise you—everyone’s journey is different. There’s no race. No scoreboard. Just you. Moving at your own pace.
So today, I want you to hear this:
Don’t rush. Don’t compare.
Your healing is unfolding in its own time, in its own way.
And that’s exactly as it should be.
Reflect with Me
Take a moment this week to acknowledge how far you’ve come.
How much you’ve learned.
How many challenges you've already overcome.
This week, I invite you to pause and acknowledge your journey.
Notice the growth, the lessons, and the strength you’ve shown.
Honour your journey—exactly as it is.

Thankyou for this post Dana. I've been thinking about this a lot lately, how my younger self really wouldn't believe where I am in life now, content with exactly who I've always been, not trying to be someone else who seemed to have it all.
Thank you for the reminder! ❤️ On some days you just need to hear this. Like you said: 'It creeps in for all of us, no matter how far we’ve come. Even when we think we’ve mastered it, it has a way of showing up again'.
I especially loved your words about 'Your nervous system thrives on safety, not speed.' and 'Healing isn’t linear. There’s no set path, no perfect timeline, and no “right” way.' It absolutely matches my experiences! However, I tend to forget when I am struggling again. So, thank you, Dana, great reminder! I'll put the 'safety, not speed' sentence on my pinboard. 😊
