𝒟𝑒𝒶𝓇 ℱ𝓇𝒾𝑒𝓃𝒹𝓈,
Each month, I’ve been sitting with my word for the year—intention—learning how to embody it in real time. It’s not something to chase but something to return to, again and again.
As this month starts, I’m noticing it’s about slowing down and consciously choosing where I direct my energy.
March is about patience in growth, and it whispers:
You don’t have to rush to grow.
Trust the timing of your own unfolding.
I used to believe growth had to be bold, fast, and noticeable. That I had to prove I was evolving—new goals, big steps, visible change. But the more I listen to my nervous system these days, the more I realise true growth isn’t forced. It’s something we allow.
Like how the trees don’t rush to bloom but quietly prepare for it. How the light shifts slowly before we even notice the days getting longer. How healing happens in small moments of rest, not grand declarations of change.
Lately, I’ve noticed my nervous system craving slower mornings—not rushing to the next thing the moment I wake up, and not immediately checking emails at work or jumping into productivity mode. Just allowing a pause—even if it’s only a few breaths before the day begins.
It’s a small shift, but small shifts matter.
Because intention isn’t just about what I do—it’s about how I do it.
So, this month, I’m choosing to be intentional with my pace.
March holds the promise of renewal, but that doesn’t mean you need to push yourself forward. Maybe what you need right now isn’t action—it’s permission. Permission to rest. Permission to listen. Permission to trust that the quiet shifts inside you matter, even if no one else can see them yet.
I’ve also been in a place of resistance lately with my somatic practice, struggling to even get on the mat. I’ve had to return to humble beginnings—expanding, contracting, and learning to wait for synchronicity. It’s been a journey of quiet growth. I’d love to share my dream journeys with you (which we’ve been adding to our practice within the nervous system regulation training) when the time is right. But just like the quiet shift of March, these dreamweaver journals will unfold in their own time.
I wrote the following poem for you, for this season of slow awakening. It’s free verse because, just like March, your growth doesn’t have to follow a set timeline.
The Awakening
There’s a shift in the air,
a quiet whisper,
inviting you to notice the small ways you’re changing. Not all growth is sudden.
Sometimes it’s a slow stretch,
a gentle unfolding toward the light. You don’t need to rush.
You’re not late.
You’re exactly where you need to be—
Rooted. Ready. Becoming.
If you’ve been feeling pressure to push forward, to figure everything out, or to “keep up,” I see you. But what if this month, you softened into trust instead?
Maybe intention looks like:
Giving yourself full permission to rest.
Moving at your own pace, without guilt.
Pausing before saying yes to something that doesn’t align.
Taking one small step toward something that truly matters to you.
What would change if you trusted that your timing is already right?
I’ll be sitting with this question, too.
There’s no right way to do this.
Just your way.
𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝒢𝓇𝒶𝓉𝒾𝓉𝓊𝒹𝑒,
🙏 𝒟𝒶𝓃𝒶 𝓍𝑜
Thank you, such a great reminder at the perfect time!
Reading your posts always has a soothing effect on me. I breathe more deeply and relax. So reassuring, so comforting! Thank you so much, Dana! ✨❤️
Thank you Dana...living on a narrow boat kind of 'forces' me to slow down as we only travel at 2-3mph which is slower than my walking pace. I'm finally, at 67, learning to tune into my body to do what I need to stay regulated. Better later than never 🙂 Karen
